Our Programs
Once a Month Club
This program offers one FREE after-school program per month during the school year. The programs are open to K-5 students in the Gateway area and are co-coordinated with middle school mentors.
Activities include:
Community clean-up
Crafting bluebird houses
Partnering with community programs and presenters, including Gallatin Valley Farm to School, Montana Raptor Center, Yes! Compost, Museum of the Rockies, Western Montana Search Dogs, and more
Summer Camp
We offer low-cost summer camps each summer, with the goal of engaging Gateway youth and offering fun and educational new experiences.
We typically host one elementary camp for children going into grades 1-5 and one Leadership Camp for students entering grades 6-8. Camps are typically held in the last three weeks of July. Camp dates will be announced in the Spring.
Environmental Summit
This program is a county-wide, one-day event each year where 100 middle school students gather to learn about and discuss sustainability and environmental issues on the historic Flying D Ranch.
This program is designed to offer middle school students an opportunity to expand their knowledge of environmental topics, including water issues, soils, noxious weed management, sustainable grazing systems, wildlife management, ecology, and more.
Giving to Gateway
GYG is proud to positively impact our community through our annual Giving to Gateway program. This event takes the place of our Once a Month Club in November.
Guided by our student leaders, this event offers a unique chance for younger (K-5) participants to engage in a meaningful activity that supports and strengthens our community. Students prepare (Day 1) and deliver (Day 2) a meal for community members during this two-day after-school event.
Camp Scholarships
This program provides scholarships to students in grades K-12 to attend a camp of their choice, including those developed and hosted by GYG. Students must submit an application, a certified declaration of community service hours completed, and artwork or a letter (depending on their age) explaining the benefit of their chosen camp.
Camp scholarship applications open in the Spring.
